Great American Farmers Market / Alaska Farmers Market Week

August 3 - August 9

It’s National Farmers Market Week, and Alaska is celebrating our Alaska Grown bounty again this year!

Governor Mike Dunleavy has proclaimed August 3 – 9, 2025 as Farmers Market Week in Alaska to encourage all Alaskans to recognize the economic contributions of Alaska’s farmers, producers and growers to local communities – and to enjoy the abundance of quality, Alaska-grown food by seeking out farmers markets.

Plus, the first-ever Great American Farmers Market is taking place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. this week in the lead up to the America250 commemoration of the United State’s 250th birthday next year.

For 30 years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been coordinating National Farmers Market Week to raise awareness of efforts nationwide for producers to sell directly to customers.
